The pen/annotation icon in the Command Bar can be tapped-on to enter annotation mode. When this mode is active, you can simply move your finger on top of the document to draw over the top of it (in a red colour). A sub-menu will appear along the left of the document to show additional annotation options, such as colour, line thickness, undo/redo.
These annotation options are:
-
Colour: Select the colour for annotations you make from now on
-
Pen tip size: Changes the thickness of any annotation type
-
Eraser: Toggles between the eraser and annotation mode
- Undo: Undoes the previous strokes (including both annotating and erasing)
- Redo: Redoes the previous undone strokes (including both annotating and erasing)
- Erase All (Trashcan icon): Removes all annotations on the object (requiring confirmation first)
-
Snapshot: Makes a new version of the image with the annotations saved on top. The new version will appear as a separate document on the screen.
Objects with graphical annotations can also be thrown between IdeaLayer instances, allowing others to collaborate by further annotating the object or by changing your annotations. When flicking to another IdeaLayer touch screen, a Take Control button will be displayed, enabling the other users to turn on the annotation mode and make changes.
A step through guide of how to use the annotation buttons is covered on the document toolbars page.
