The Content Management System (CMS) enables you to easily update the content and layout/look and feel of your project. This guide covers how to setup an account and access the CMS.
Account registration
The CMS uses the same user account you may have already setup for accessing IdeaLayer (cloud version).
To create an account, please follow the registration steps at app.idealayer.com. Please ensure you enter your email address all lowercase. During this registration you will receive a code to your email address; please enter this code to complete the registration and set your password.
Once logged in, you'll be prompted to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) via a QR code. Here is how to complete the setup in under 60 seconds:
-
Step 1: Get an Authenticator App
If you don't already have one, download a free app like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or use your password manager (like 1Password, Apple Passwords, or Bitwarden). -
Step 2: Scan the QR Code
Open your authenticator app, tap the "+" (Add) icon, select "Scan a QR code", and point your phone's camera at the QR code on your computer screen. (If you are doing this entirely on your mobile phone, click "Show secret key" on the page and paste that text string into your app manually instead). -
Step 3: Enter the 6-Digit Code
The app will immediately generate a temporary 6-digit code labeled IdeaLayer. Type that code into the verification box on our website and click Verify.
Please also get in touch with us to request permission to access the projects/apps that you need to manage content for - we will enable this for you on your account on the back-end.
Accessing the CMS
After logging in, you can access the CMS by selecting it in the user profile menu in the top right corner of your screen.
Once in the CMS, select the project from the list in the left menu that you'd like to manage content for.
