One of the most powerful features of IdeaLayer is the ability to flick content between devices. This enables highly engaging, collaborative presentations—whether you're handing off a brochure from a tablet to a wall-mounted screen, or visualising multiple product options across an arrangement of screens in front of the audience.
How It Works
Devices in the same room or networked space can be configured to link with each other and allow seamless content sharing:
- Flick gesture: Simply swipe a content item towards one of the edges of the screen. In simple configurations, each edge of the touch screen can represent a different device or display in the room.
- Flick zones: The edges of the touch screen can be split into smaller zones to enable you to flick to any number or arrangement of displays.
- Live sync: The selected content opens instantly on the target device, maintaining its interactive properties. You can mark-up, move between pages, interact with web pages and more.
Use Cases
- Sales appointments: Flick pricing documents or floorplans from a tablet to the wall for discussion
- Design reviews: Move sketches from a large wall canvas to an individual tablet for annotation
- Team workshops: Share inspiration boards or media across different tables and teams

Configuration
The setup of this feature is typically done as part of your IdeaLayer installation. When using your touch screen devices, all devices are connected and there is nothing extra for you to do - just flick to where you want the content to go.
For administrators, configuration of the flicking feature is covered in the configuration guide.
